“Forced Collaboration is an online platform that matches artist's practices anonymously and creates a space for cross-disciplinary collaborations through the process of making/following instructions to create artworks.”
"Forced Collaboration aims to take the pressure off your own practice by experimenting with an idea you won't actually have to make and making an artwork you didn’t actually think of."
Forced Collaboration runs workshops. This is a great way to get groups of artists working together in ways they wouldn't normally work and collaborate with practices they wouldn't normally collaborate with. If you would like to organise a workshop hosted by Forced Collaboration, get in touch.
Forced Collaboration facilitates six rounds of six collaborations every year and is open to anyone to apply.
In Your Hands is a group exhibition at Newlyn Art Gallery, Newlyn, UK. The exhibition focuses on connecting international artists with people in Cornwall in collaborations to realise or fabricate their artwork.
For In Your Hands, Forced Collaboration invited 12 international artists from their network to offer an instruction to the project. The instructions were then shared with Newlyn Art Gallery’s collective of local young creatives, the Collaborators who have responded to them. All artworks produced are considered collaborations between the instruction author and the artwork artist.
