SAY HER NAME GAME, 2018

I've made a modular system which is based on the game 'pairs'. In this game, all the cards are laid face down and two cards are flipped face up over each turn. The object of the game is to turn over pairs of matching cards. On black cards, I've written with a white pencil the first name and surnames of artists I like. To play the game, you'll have to match the right combination of names. I imagined curators or critics or directors (or other cultural workers with selection power) playing this game in their lunch breaks to help them finally remember some names other than 'Antony Gormley' or 'Grayson Perry' or 'Wolfgang Tillmans.' I can also imagine this game being played by a group of friends, chatting and laughing and debating the names which they put on the cards.
